விளக்கற்றம் பார்க்கும் இருளேபோல் கொண்கன்
முயக்கற்றம் பார்க்கும் பசப்பு.

Just as darkness waits for light-off Pallor looks for lover's arms-off
— As darkness waits till lamp expires, to fill the place,This pallor waits till I enjoy no more my lord's embrace
விளக்கினுடைய மறைவைப் பார்த்துக் காத்திருக்கின்ற இருளைப் போலவே, தலைவனுடைய தழுவுதலின் சோர்வைப் பார்த்துக் காத்திருக்கினறது.
விளக்கு மெலிவதைப் பார்த்து நெருங்கும் இருட்டைப் போல என்னவரின் தழுவல் நெகிழ்வதைப் பார்த்துக் காத்திருந்த பசலை வரும்.
விளக்கின் ஒளிகுறையும் சமயம் பார்த்துப் பரவிடும் இருளைப்போல, இறுகத் தழுவிய காதலன்பிடி, சற்றுத் தளரும்போது காதலியின் உடலில் பசலைநிறம் படர்ந்து விடுகிறது
