நெடிய கழியும் இரா.

Crueller than that cruel he Are midnight hours gliding slowly
— More cruel than the cruelty of him, the cruel one,In these sad times are lengthening hours of night I watch alone
( பிரிந்து துன்புறுகின்ற) இந்நாட்களில் நெடுநேரம் உடையனவாய்க் கழிகின்ற இராக்காலங்கள், பிரிந்த கொடியவரின் கொடுமையை விடத் தாம் கொடியவை.
இப்போதெல்லாம் இரவுகள் கழிவதற்கு நெடும்பொழுது ஆகிறது; என்னைப் பிரிந்து போன என் கணவரின் கொடுமையிலும் இவை மிகக் கொடுமையாக இருக்கின்றன.
இந்த இரவுகள் நீண்டுகொண்டே போவதுபோல் தோன்றும் கொடுமை இருக்கிறதே அது காதலரின் பிரிவால் ஏற்படும் கொடுமையைவிடப் பெரிதாக உள்ளது
